ES220-28-24F L2+ enterprise switch support Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS). The ring protection link (RPL) in the ring would ensures all switches stay connected and minimize the disruption to service; loop avoidance is assured as RPL blocks the traffic when not in used. Streaming and data transfer adopt the topological characteristics of the ring network. In the event of a network failure, ERPS quickly enables the backup link to be quickly recovered.

Each built-in mini-GBIC slots in the EP/ES220 series have supported 1000Base-SX/LX SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) or 10G fiber-optic modules. An administrator can flexibly choose a suitable SFP transceiver according to the transmission distance required.
